2018 Celebrity Dessert and Auction

Tickets are now available for the thirteenth annual Northern Light Home Care & Hospice Celebrity Dessert and Auction, scheduled for Thursday, October 18 at the Spectacular Event Center on 395 Griffin Road in Bangor. Proceeds will benefit Pathfinders for grieving children and hospice care provided by Northern Light Home Care & Hospice.
The Dessert and Auction will be hosted by WABI TV’s Joy Hollowell, co-anchor of the morning newscast, and Todd Simcox, chief meteorologist.
Attendees will enjoy delicious desserts prepared by local chefs and restaurants and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. A lively auction will feature tasty treats from local restaurants, bakeries, and individuals; Maine adventures including a sailing excursion for six, stays at local inns, and a wilderness adventure; a two-night weekend stay in New York; and much more.
This year’s event will celebrate 25 years of Pathfinders, a Northern Light Home Care & Hospice program that has provided more than 1000 children, teens, and their caregivers with a caring, safe environment to creatively express, share, and grow through the healing journey. Age-specific groups provide the structure needed for those who have experienced a loss to process grief in a healthy way surrounded by others who are grieving.
“Pathfinders has made such a positive difference in the lives of grieving children and families over the past 25 years,” says Colleen Hilton, president, Northern Light Home Care & Hospice. “There is nothing else like Pathfinders in our region. It’s a unique resource that children and families depend on in times of great need. We’re appreciative of the community’s support of this vital program through the Celebrity Dessert & Auction.”
The Dessert and Auction also helps Northern Light Home Care & Hospice staff provide personalized hospice care and help with unmet needs such as hospital sheets and blankets, specialized wheelchairs and other equipment that enhances quality of life, special meals, and more.
