From Beantown to Bangor: Growing partnerships

Group-Shot.jpgClinical teams from Massachusetts General Hospital boarded a bus and headed north in late January to spend a few days at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Our guests toured the system’s flagship facility and met with physicians, leadership, and others. Conversations centered around four clinical areas: pediatrics, cardiology, telehealth, and transplants, as well as how to increase collaboration between the organizations.
EMHS is steadfastly committed to quality and access, and to advancing relationships that ensure both. That is why the system embraces working with nationally top ranked hospitals to explore affiliations and collaborations that benefit care delivery for the people of Maine. Likewise, we have much to offer in return. Ultimately, our patients and communities will be the beneficiaries of these connections.
Clinical leaders from Eastern Maine Medical Center will spend time with their counterparts at Massachusetts General Hospital, as we explore further growing our relationship. We have a wide range of clinical relationships with the specialty hospitals in Boston and welcome opportunities to strengthen those associations with formal collaborations or arrangements.
Look for more on this in the coming months as discussion continues and relationships develop.
