Pathways Blazes a New Trail

Pathways, the EMHS newsletter, was born more than 20 years ago as a way to provide you with timely information about what is going on across our system. Through the years, Pathways has evolved with the times and sported modifications in style, format, and graphics. We are pleased to share that Pathways is now undergoing another change—one that we believe will make it more accessible for readers across the system.

Although we have had an online version of Pathways for a few years, readers were limited in how they accessed the newsletter, and we were limited in how we could offer it. What’s exciting about this issue is that you are now able to take Pathways along wherever you go. This provides you with the flexibility to read at work, home, or while you travel—you no longer need to be on a company computer to access Pathways online!

The new format for Pathways is also exciting, considering that it began as a printed publication that was hand delivered to multiple sites across the system, and distributed by volunteers and local communications staff—a process that typically took several days to complete. Since that time, EMHS has grown from a regional health delivery system with 6,000 employees to a statewide organization with more than 11,000 employees. And, there has been tremendous development in technology with the emergence of mobile devices. We know people want to get their news differently today, and that it needs to be convenient, timely, and accessible. Therefore, we are continuously developing new ways to meet the challenge.

Tell us what you think!
This is your newsletter. We want your continued feedback on this new online format of Pathways as well as the content. We can’t be everywhere or know about everything that is going on, so we hope you will be our roving reporters. Please send us stories ideas or suggest news that matters to you by clicking the submit news  button located in the upper right hand corner. We can’t guarantee every suggestion will make a future issue, but we will do our best to follow up on all suggestions of elements you would like to see in the newsletter.
